Thread #2
Thread #2 has been my personal solo-exploration working through heartache and grief. Through the materiality of cellophane, this work has allowed me to visualize the deep wrapping, weight, and suffocation that emotional state bears on the body. It is the struggle to push through barriers, to honor and forgive, and fight for the returning of [one’s-self/my-self].
My hope is to connect heartache through an empathetic lense - allowing us to hold space for our pains and the timespan grief manifests in the body, knowing that even deep in its grasp we are never alone.
This work has been made possible with MOtiVE Brooklyn’s 2023 For the Artists! Residency Program
