Ashley Tillman (she/her) is a dance movement artist residing and creating in Lenapehoking, Brooklyn, NY. In 2019, she earned her BFA in Dance from the University of the Arts under the direction of Donna Faye Burchfield, complemented by a minor in Business.
Rooted in the belief that we are bound by an invisible network, Ashley's artistic work serves as a dynamic exploration of the interconnectedness that is our shared humanity. Through unweaving these threads, she aims to invite the space for commonground - allowing the experiences of the performer/audience to merge. She hopes her work can speak to the bodys almost limitless (physical & emotional) reach, portray the blurring of time, and show the expansive possibilities of dreaming and world building.
Her artistic expression and movement practices venture into the radicality of the body, investigating the polar spectrums of intimacy and virtuosic agency. Ashley's artistic dream is to build upon the continual reframing of her bodily knowledge, as she relentlessly endeavors to unveil her authentic, unfixed self.
